Visual illustration of the Kent Williams takeover

by Katherine Miller on January 13, 2009

I told you all that Tennessee loves antics, didn’t I? Mike admirably recapped the ins and outs of how Kent Williams became Speaker of the Tennessee House of Representatives today. As blogger Say Uncle notes:

“[T]hey’re pretty good at playing dirty. They did it today. They’ve done it before. And if they have no compunction about doing that to one another, imagine what can do to you.”

But the whole thing’s a tad confusing, no? Truly, the best way to illustrate the remarkable coup by Kent Williams, is through the visual medium. That’s why, gentle readers, I’ve put together this illustration of just what happened:

At Thanksgiving, House Democratic leader Gary Odom propositioned Williams with a big prize. Robin Smith had her suspicions.

Meanwhile back at the House, everybody was all up in arms because Williams might vote for Democrat Jimmy Naifeh. The GOP vowed to kick Williams out, and Williams was like “Maybe later. Watch yo’self.”

Today, all the GOP in the land was celebrating because some dude named Mumpower (…this should have told them something) was going to be Speaker of the House. Little did they know, Williams had arrived at the House all “cheery.”

Williams showed them all. He got elected Speaker of the House! You can’t keep a bad girl down for long.

In bitter retaliation, Robin Smith declared Williams a pariah of the GOP. Smith expelled Williams. Who is now a dude.

So, that’s about it. You know you love me, XOXO.

ETA: Oh, Kent Williams, fear should be struck in your heart. Michelle Malkin knows of your treachery. She’s got one up on Blair Waldorf even.
